keto foods
Feb 04, 2022
The ketogenic or keto diet continues to trend this year, the reasons? Infinite, but among the main ones is how delicious it is to wear it, since it allows us to consume foods that have always been taboo in traditional diets.
A low-carbohydrate food, with less than 5 grams of carbohydrates per 100 grams, can be considered keto friendly orketo food.
I will give you a brief summary of food groups:
Vegetables:Most of those that grow above ground (spinach, Swiss chard, lettuce, kale, peppers, zucchini, eggplant, etc.), we avoid tubers and starchy ones (potatoes, sweet potatoes, corn, cassava, beets, etc. ).
Fruit:Only those with a low glycemic index, red fruits are par excellence. This is how we stay (in general, so as not to create confusion) with the strawberries, blueberries, raspberries and add the coconut and avocado, which are still fruits.
Meats:Of all kinds and species, as well as eggs, if you get free grazing or farm, much better. And in terms of health in general we talk, we avoid consuming mostly processed foods, such as sausages, due to their content of chemical preservatives (unless they don't have them, very few brands do).
Legumes and flours: We will avoid them completely (unless they are “keto” flours)
Dairy products: Only whole, without sugar, most, except for milk.
Fats:Butter, ghee, olive oil, coconut oil, avocado oil, are your allies in keto, avoid margarines and other types of vegetable oils that are harmful to your health.
Beverages:Water, flavored water, serums, homemade serums, coffees, teas, all in their versions without sugar, diet soft drinks only occasionally (for general health reasons). Avoid juices of any kind, even if they are natural fruit, their sugar concentration is very high.
Sugar:Completely remove it from your mental map if you want to be healthy.
This is a brief summary that will be useful to you in your day to day life, there are many foods, but we want to open the panorama for you if you are starting so that you are not so lost, enjoy the pleasure of nourishing yourself and staying in ketosis with each one! from them!
